Groundbreaking Ceremony Held for HealthNet Northwest Health Center

10/28/2015

HealthNet hosted a groundbreaking celebration on October 26, 2015 for its newest community health center site on the near northwest side of Indianapolis.

Construction is under way on the first floor of Clifton Square, a unique urban senior housing development at the corner of 30th and Clifton streets, to become the home of HealthNet Northwest Health Center. The new health center is part of a revitalization of the United Northwest Area and will provide much needed primary care services for all ages, regardless of ability to pay. The center is expected to serve 3,000 inner city patients and provide 9,000 patient visits by 2017.

Designed by Cooler Design, Inc., the 5,530 sq. ft. health center is scheduled to be complete in December 2015 and will include 8 exam rooms, a procedure room, lab and three offices. The center will offer adult primary care, pediatrics, behavioral health, lab and enabling services, including insurance enrollment.

The project is made possible through a $1 million federal grant. In August, HealthNet was one of 14 community health centers in Indiana to be awarded a 2015 New Access Point grant by United States Health and Human Services (HHS). Under the Affordable Care Act, $8.4 million in awards will be used to support 14 new health center sites across the state. These investments will help provide care for approximately 50,000 additional patients in Indiana.
