HIP Resources

FindHelpA resource that helps to facilitate between people who need human services and those who provide them.

National Alliance to End Homelessness: An organization committed to preventing and ending homelessness in the United States. By improving policy, building capacity, and educating opinion leaders, the Alliance has become a leading voice on this issue.

Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans Association: The nation's first and largest group dedicated to the Troops and Veterans of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and the civilian supporters of those Troops and Veterans.

Employment and Training

HIP's Employment and Training Team equips clients with pre-employment skills, job search tools, and access to computers, telephones, and fax machines to empower their career search. To strengthen this employment focus, Employment and Training staff develop solid relationships with educational centers and local employers to provide both career training and direct placement opportunities.

Housing

By creating successful partnerships in the community, HIP is able to provide an array of housing programs and options. This allows staff to find the best situations to support each client's needs as they reach new goals.

Case Management

HIP's Case Mangers help client's with the process to become permanently housed. Case Managers assist clients with accessing health services, entitlement programs, links to employment and advocacy both before and after they are permanently housed. Case Managers often work side by side with the client in determinding the best suitable place to live based on budget and wishes. The Case Manager ensures that the client's needs are met in a compassionate and caring manner.

Veterans' Assistance

HIP serves Veteran households with the Supportive Services for Veteran Families grant from the Veterans' Administration. Through this grant, Veterans experiencing homelessness are connected to housing, case management, employment, and other sustaining services, including benefits from the VA (as they are eligible).

Outreach

HIP's Outreach Team goes out on the street to locate and engage those clients that are unable or unwilling to come in for services. By offering compassionate, regular support and essential needs, this team builds trust in order to respond when a client wants or needs to do something different. At HIP this begins with the clients walking in and talking with professional triage staff who assist them with immediate needs while supporting them as they connect with long term solutions.
