Free Flu Shots in Martinsville on Oct. 20
HealthNet is, once again, pleased to partner with Churches in Mission and the HealthNet Foundation to offer a free flu shot clinic. Free flu shots will be offered on Wednesday, October 20, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Churches in Mission parking lot, 60 W. Pike St. in Martinsville. To minimize the potential for exposure to COVID-19, this is a drive-through event. Please wear a mask and remain in your cars. If you do not have a mask one will be provided to you. Flu shots are available for children and adults.
People at high risk of serious flu complications include young children, pregnant women, people with certain chronic health conditions like asthma, diabetes or heart and lung disease and people 65 years and older. Many people at higher risk from flu also seem to be at higher risk from COVID-19. The Center for Disease Control highly recommends that people in these high-risk groups be vaccinated in order to decrease their risk of severe flu illness, in addition to the general population.
