HealthNet Receives Jack Hopkins Social Services Grant for COVID-19 Protective Equipment for Bloomington Health Center

3/16/2021

Thanks to a $5,518.98 grant from the City of Bloomington Common Council Jack Hopkins Social Services Funding Committee, HealthNet purchased much needed protective equipment to reduce the risk of COVID-19 exposure for patients and staff at HealthNet Bloomington Health Center.

This one-time investment was used to purchase and install three Purashield-500 air purifiers and replacement cartridges in three exam rooms dedicated to caring for patients with COVID-19 symptoms.

Studies indicate that the coronavirus can linger in the air for 30 minutes or longer and move around 15 feet.  Once this and other viruses are airborne, they can settle almost anywhere in the environment.

Thank you to the City of Bloomington Common Council Jack Hopkins Social Services Funding Committee for enabling Bloomington Health Center to care for 1,422 patients in 2020, in the midst of COVID-19!
