HealthNet President/CEO Honored at Minority Achievers Awards Dinner

On Wednesday evening March 11, HealthNet President/CEO J. Cornelius Brown received the “Achievement in Professions” Award from the Center for Leadership Development at its 35th Annual Minority Achievers Awards Dinner.

 “The nominees are professionals, leaders, trailblazers and other Central Indiana achievers who have dared to pursue excellence-in both their life work, and their service to others and their communities,” says Dennis Bland, President of the Center for Leadership Development.  The Center for Leadership Development is a non-profit that works to foster the advancement of minority youth by helping them set high meaningful goals, training them to responsibly handle peer pressure and motivating them to pursue excellence.

Mr. Brown is an accomplished senior executive with over 35 years of experience in the healthcare industry, to include work in both military and civilian settings. Mr. Brown joined HealthNet in 2012 as President and Chief Executive Officer. In this position, he leads Indiana’s largest federally qualified health center that provides care annually to over 60,000 uninsured and underinsured patients in Marion County through its network of 37 primary care health centers, dental offices, school-based clinics, service sites and outreach programs, to include delivery of almost 2,500 babies each year.
