HealthNet People’s Health & Dental Center Hosts Free Mobile Eye Clinic

6/24/2016

The U.S. Conference of Mayors, in partnership with VSP Global Eyes of Hope®, will provide no-cost comprehensive eye exams and glasses to low-income Indianapolis residents during the U.S. Conference of Mayors meeting in Indianapolis this week.

HealthNet will host the mobile eye clinic on Tuesday, June 28 and Wednesday, June 29, in memory of Dr. Jill Buck, HealthNet’s optometrist who died tragically in a car accident last July.

The van will be at HealthNet People’s Health & Dental Center, 2340 E. 10th St., from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, June 28 and Wednesday, June 29.

Exams will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis for adults and children. Exams will include routine eye exams as well as diabetic exams.

The eye mobile clinic is equipped with a full-service eye exam room and a complete dispensary with popular eyewear brands. The clinic also features a finishing lab so that residents, some of whom may have never worn glasses for corrective vision before, can receive their frames and lenses the same day.
