HealthNet Offers Free One-to-One Consultations for Marketplace Open Enrollment November 15-Feb. 15

HealthNet is offering free, individual consultations for people interested in learning more about their health insurance options under the new Marketplace Exchange. The three-month open enrollment window for health care coverage under the Marketplace begins Saturday, November 15, 2014, and will end on February 15, 2015.
Thousands of Hoosiers are still without adequate health insurance coverage and HealthNet alone has more than 15,000 uninsured patients. HealthNet’s Outreach and Enrollment Specialists will be working hard over the next several months to help uninsured Hoosiers get signed up for the coverage they need, and to help ensure access to preventive medical care which can lead to real savings in the cost of health care.
“Lately people have been talking about the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act and want to know what this means for them. The Affordable Care Act offers health insurance plans for those without insurance or those who do not have enough insurance to cover their medical needs,” said Jenee’ Green, HealthNet’s Outreach & Enrollment manager.
All plans in the Marketplace offer a basic set of services that include:
• Doctor visits (for example, well-child checks, annual exams, etc.)
• Maternity and newborn care
• Hospital stays
• Dental services, vision care and
• Prescription drugs
“There are many options and prices to choose from,” added Green. “This year in Indiana, four marketplace plans were available. For 2015, there are nine. We’re encouraging everyone who either doesn’t have insurance or not enough insurance to call and find out about their options. Even if you signed up for a plan through the Marketplace last year, this is the time to re-evaluate it. The newer plan options may provide you with better coverage.”
HealthNet has 23 staff members certified to assist with both state and federal insurance programs. The team provides education and enrollment assistance for Medicaid, Healthy Indiana Plan and Marketplace health insurance plans to current and potential families within the HealthNet service area. They are available to meet people at any of HealthNet’s 12 health centers or at a location in their community.
“We can help you and your family understand your options and apply for a plan that works best for you,” added Green.
