HealthNet Achieves Perfect Score on Site Review

5/12/2014

In May, HealthNet, Inc. became one of only two health centers in Indiana, and among less than 10 percent of health centers in the nation, to achieve a perfect score on its first operational site review by the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA).

HealthNet aced 19 out of 19 health center program requirements during the three-day visit by three HRSA operations consultants May 7-9, 2014. The 19 program requirements assessed how well the organization meets the needs of the community; assures access to needed services; demonstrates sound clinical management and financial stability; and maintains appropriate board authority and governance.

HRSA, a U.S. Department of Health and Human Services agency, provides funding for federally qualified health centers such as HealthNet to care for the underinsured and uninsured. HRSA began the survey visits in 2012, in response to a U.S. Government Accountability Office report, to demonstrate adequate scrutiny and oversight of the health center program.

Federally qualified health centers are nonprofit private or public entities that serve designated medically underserved populations/areas and/or special medically underserved populations comprised of the homeless, public housing residents or migrant and seasonal farm workers.
